Hey, hi, hello. I’m Fully Booked is live and I’m so happy to be back to blogging. My name is Zaneta and I’m an avid reader! Nice to meet you! I’ve debated for a while what my first post should be, and the only on that felt right was a tag to introduce myself.

I found these questions while browsing for a “newbie” tag, and found that they were adapted by a blog called Love and Other Bookish Things, which doesn’t exist anymore, from an original Booktube tag, sadly also gone by now. I’m sorry I can’t give any more credit to the creators.

Let’s get into it, shall we?

1. Why did you start this blog?

Truth be told… I’m Fully Booked existed before. I started it in 2019 and blogged on and off for a couple of years. For a long while it was going great, but as always, life got too busy and I lost the drive and motivation for it. And so I scrapped it completely, along with my bookstagram account. But here we are again, trying my hand blogging once again, because I got my life somewhat in order and got out of a funk. I have always loved reading, but lacked people in my life to discuss all things bookish with, and as an opinionated individual I decided there’s no better place for it than here.

2. What are some fun and unique things you can bring to book blogging?

I’m not entirely sure how to answer this question… because, of course, I plan on having a lot of fun here and creating content people enjoy reading and interacting with. But the word unique puts a lot of pressure on me. I guess my view of the books I read is going to be unique. I plan on sharing a lot of reviews and recommendations, lists, hauls and new releases, but also incorporate bullet journaling, as I use it to track a lot of my reading. I would also love to start a book club – so, if anyone is interested, hit me up!

3. What are you most excited for about this new blog?

I am excited and hopeful to meet new friends who enjoy similar books I do. I want to interact with people who are as crazy about reading and books as I am, so I can share my excitement and opinions with. I’m also looking forward to book recommendations. Anything bookish is exciting!

4. Why do you love reading?

The simplest answer is… I just do. I have always been a reader, ever since I turned 3 years old and started piecing together words and sentences. Books have been part of my life for as long as I remember, and I cannot imagine myself as anyone else but a reader. They’re my favourite form of escapism, but also so much more. They teach me things, exercise my imagination, help me feel emotions and process them, when I feel like I can’t do that on my own.

5. What book or series got you into reading?

I honestly don’t know, because I do not remember a time when I wasn’t a reader. By the time I read series I consider my childhood favourites, I’ve already fallen in love with reading. I will write a separate blog post about all of those, because there’s quite a few books and series I feel solidified my love for reading at a young age.

6. What questions would you ask your favorite authors?

I would ask them how and when did they know they wanted to write for a living, but I’m sure they’ve answered that question a million times before. And maybe what kind of book are they dying to write, but can’t quite put into words yet?

7. What challenges of starting a blog will be hardest to overcome?

Consistency! I have a hard time sticking with things and giving them my attention for a prolonged period of time. I lose steam and get discouraged easily, but I hope to overcome that soon and be consistent in being active on here.

8. When did you start reading?

I was 3 years old when I learned how to read and I’ve been reading since. There were years when I read more, and years when I read barely anything in between then and now (nearly 26 years later), but I’ve always been a reader.

9. Where do you read?

The question is, where DON’T I read (and that is the shower, because of the logistics, but as soon as I get a shower speaker, it won’t be a problem)? I always have a physical book, an ebook AND an audiobook going, so I can switch between those. I read physically at home, mostly in bed, and at work, on a quiet day. Ebooks are reserved from when I’m waiting for appointments, or commuting, or attending events that I don’t want to but can’t quite get away with bringing a physical book to. And whenever I journal, clean, cook, walk or shop, I listen to audiobooks.

10. What kind of books do you read?

My most read genre is fantasy, although I’ve been reading less and less of it lately. I love sci-fi, mystery/thrillers and some hard hitting contemporaries. Recently, I’ve been reading more and more horror and I’m finding I’m enjoying the genre. I also pick up some non-fiction from time to time, though I’m quite picky with those. I gravitate towards books with good representation, especially lgbtqia+, and I try to read diversely. I enjoy middle grade from time to time, and love YA and adukt fiction equally.

That is all for my introductory tag. Once again, nice to meet you! If you have a book blog, share it down below – let’s be friends! You can find more about me in the “about me” tab in the drop down menu, and on ky Instagram account. Thank you so much for reading.
